Briscoe, and also where her two daughters were born. Shirley spent much of her adulthood in the Washington DC area, where she pursued her passion in education as a teacher in the DC Public School system for 26 years. Following her early retirement from teaching, Shirley found a second career as a realtor for over ten years.
